Although it was pretty difficult to choose the best design talks at Art Basel 2017, we are sure these 3 will make a difference.

One of the greatest art events in Europe, if not the world – Art Basel 2017–  is upon us to showcase the world’s latest and most unique pieces of art from recognized and emerging artists. It takes place from June 15 to 18 offering visitors an intense and outstanding cultural program each day that not only includes  exhibitions, surrounding events but also design conferences.

This will be without doubts an interesting conversation. In this panel a discussion about concerning issues on the art industry will take place having in consideration the perspective of artists from major continents. Guest artists like Zanele Muholi will share her experience and answer important questions about this matter like: How do artists in these regions build recognition for their work, at home and abroad? What are the trials and tribulations from the perspectives of both an artist who has left her/his country of origin and an artist who has stayed?

Four photography experts gather to discuss the present and the future of photography. Different perspectives will come from different persons, a gallerist, a curator and two museum directors. The discussion will analyse photography as an artistic medium and its complexity, and elaborate the possible developments of photography, its challenges and strengths. A must!

This design conference will provide great insights on how Culture plays an important role in urban identity and regeneration. Alternative models for developing cultural and urban prototypes in remote communities in cities will be discussed by the guest artists Mark Rappolt, Abraham Cruzvillegas, Bernard Khoury and Afroditi Panagiotakou.

This will be pretty interesting since it will allow participants to get knowledge on how art can contribute to the future of society in remote urban areas and what are their responsibilities as artists in this process.
