We’re already in March, but there are still plenty of Design Events for you to attend in the following 10 Months. For that reason, My Design Agenda decided to present you 20 Design Events you simply can’t miss in the next 10 Months!
World Design Capital 2018: Mexico City – From March 05 to October 07 2018 – Mexico City, Mexico – The sixth World Design Capital® and the very first city from the Americas to receive this title, Mexico City has a powerful story to share on the world stage, as a model for other megacities around the world using design to tackle the challenges of urbanization and ensure a more livable city. From March to October, Mexico City will host a variety of design, architectural and engineering events that will put this Mexican city on the top of the design world.
Light + Building – From March 18 to March 23 2018 – Frankfurt, Germany – Manufacturers from over 55 countries, including all market leaders with their latest products for the fields of lighting, electrical engineering, house and building automation and civil-engineering software, will be represented at Light + Building, including luxury brands like Brabbu and DelightFULL.
INDEX – From March 26 to March 29 2018 – Dubai, United Arab Emirates – INDEX International Design Exhibition is the largest business platform for the interior design and architecture community to source products for their projects across the residential, retail and hospitality projects. With over 700 market-leading companies and brands from more than 50 countries showcasing thousands of products, INDEX remains the number one interiors event in the MENA region, attracting more than 20,000 visitors from over 100 countries.
Salone Internazionale del Mobile – From April 17 to April 22 2018 – Milan, Italy – The biggest date on the world’s furniture calendar always falls on a Tuesday in April, marking the start of the annual Salone Internazionale del Mobile, a week packed with events, exhibitions and presentations, where everyone who’s anyone on the international furniture design and manufacturing scene comes together to keep up with the latest developments in the field. Luxury brands like Boca do Lobo and DelightFULL will be present at this event.
Wanted Design – From May 19 to May 22 2018 – New York, United States of America – WantedDesign is a platform dedicated to promoting design and fostering the international creative community at large throughout the year. It’s two marquee events take place during May’s NYCxDESIGN in both Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Interior Lifestyle Tokyo – From May 30 to June 01 2018 – Tokyo, Japan – Interior Lifestyle Tokyo is an international trade fair with high-end designs and products that will take place in Tokyo.
Design Miami/ Basel – From June 12 to June 17 2018 – Basel, Switzerland – Design Miami/ is the global forum for design. Each fair brings together the most influential collectors, gallerists, designers, curators and critics from around the world in celebration of design culture and commerce. Occurring alongside the Art Basel fairs in Miami, USA each December and Basel, Switzerland each June, Design Miami/ has become the premier venue for collecting, exhibiting, discussing and creating collectible design.
San Francisco Design Week – From June 07 to June 15 2018 – San Francisco, United States of America – From tech inventions to culture-changing products, human-centered design, emerging fashion to international architecture, San Francisco Design Week is an opportunity to experience the regions unique design talents, impact and innovations.
Design Tokyo – From July 04 to July 06 2018 – Tokyo, Japan – DESIGN TOKYO is one of the leading trade shows for “Marketable” design products in Japan. Only the products which passed the screening by designers and stylists will be on display. It has welcomed key buyers coming in flocks to find new vendors and see what’s fresh in the design and lifestyle fields.
Decor + Design – From July 19 to July 22 2018 – Melbourne, Australia – Decor + Design is Australia’s premier interiors event, showcasing the latest interior products e furnishing from leading companies. One of the top Design Events in the Oceania Region!
Maison et Objet Paris – From September 07 to September 11 2018 – Paris, France – The key meeting place for professionals in the art of living brings together a 360° offer that is in line with the diverse needs of global markets. For 20 years this large lifestyle platform, at the crossroads of business and creativity, provides solutions that meet the needs of visitors from around the world. In this fair you’ll be able to find products form luxury brands like Boca do Lobo and DelightFULL.
London Design Festival – From September 15 to September 23 2018 – London, United Kingdom – The London Design Festival is an annual event, held to celebrate and promote London as the design capital of the world, and as the gateway to the international creative community.
Vienna Design Week – From September 29 to October 08 2018 – Vienna, Austria – This is Austria´s largest design festival, with a variety of locations and events in Vienna. The festival, curated by Lilli Hollein entered its 12th round this year.
Dutch Design Week – October 2018 – Eindhoven, The Netherlands – In October of every year, the Dutch Design Week takes place in Eindhoven. One of the best design events worldwide and the biggest in Nothern Europe, Dutch Design Week or DDW present works and ideas of more than 2500 designers to more than 295.000 visitors from all over the world.
Venice Design Week – From October 06 to October 14 2018 – Venice, Italy – In Venice, the interweaving of history, craftsmanship and art is indissoluble and offers endless ideas for designers. At the Venice Design Week, Design takes Center Stage in a stunning and amazing scenery.
I Saloni WorldWide Moscow – From October 10 to October 13 2018 – Moscow, Russia – The founders of ISaloni in Milan launched ISaloni WorldWide in 2005 and since then a ISaloni Event is held annually in Moscow in October, becoming the benchmark event for the Home-furnishing sector for the Russian market and the countries in its geopolitical basin. It’s visited by more than 30,000 trade operators, press and general public.
Boutique Design New York – From November 11 to November 12 2018 – New York, United States of America – Boutique Design New York (BDNY) is the leading trade fair and conference for the hospitality design industry, serving the eastern United States, Canada and Europe. Presented annually by Boutique Design at NYC’s Javits Center, BDNY brings interior designers, architects, purchasing agents and hospitality owners/developers together with manufacturers and marketers of high-caliber design elements for hospitality interiors.
The Sleep Event – From November 20 to November 21 2018 – London, United Kingdom – The Sleep Event is a Hospitality Event that offers abundant inspiration for hotel groups and owners to think more about what is possible and what their clients want.
Dubai Design Week – From November 12 to November 17 2018 – Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Activating more than 60 separate activities and projects throughout the week, a major element of Dubai Design Week will be made up of a programme of talks, lectures and workshops which will educate, support and promote local talent to an international audience. From panel discussions on supporting design in Dubai, to workshops which will explore the fundamentals of different design disciplines, the extensive programme will encourage a greater interest in the regions design activity.
