Detroit was able to secure its place as a City of Design thanks in part to the application submitted by the Detroit Creative Corridor Center, or DC3, an organization committed to fostering creative fields in the state.

According to Crain’s, DC3 highlighted the city’s design-based events, such as the Detroit Design Festival, and its ongoing industrial revival.

To further bolster the application, Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Stephen McGee created a video that highlights Detroit’s relationship with design. Check it out below, and if it inspires you to move to Detroit, know you won’t be alone. It is one of the best cities for 20-somethings, after all.
