Galleries
This year, over 200 of the world’s leading international modern and contemporary art galleries display the artworks of over 4000 artists and designers. Visitors can even find a large range of edited pieces by young artists and museum-caliber masterpieces. Cheim & Read and Galleria Continua are two of the invited.
Nova
Designed for galleries to present one, two or three artists showing works created within the last three years, the Nova sector features strong juxtapositions and never-before-seen design pieces fresh from the artist’s studio. Furthermore Anicka Yi, Xaviera Simmons and Laercio Redondo will be there!
Leading publishers of edited works, prints, and multiples exhibit the results of their collaboration with renowned artists, providing visitors the opportunity to see significant, and rare publications. You may recognize Sabine Knust, Carolina Nitsch and Paragon.
Kabinett
In a separately delineated space within their booths, Galleries present a curated exhibition by an artist of their choice. The diverse curatorial concepts for Kabinett include thematic group exhibitions, art-historical showcases and solo shows for rising stars. Some of the names on the list are Manuel Espinosa, Howard Hodgkin and Jorge Macchi.
Since 1970, Art Basel’s goal has been to connect the world’s premier galleries and their patrons, as well serving as a meeting point for the international art world. Now, over forty years later, they maintain an international reputation for showing high quality work from all sectors, where you can appreciate the true beauty of design and art. Expect to see an amazing show.
