Koket Vintage Interior Design at Salone del Mobile 2016
Koket Vintage Interior Design at Salone del Mobile 2016 – 55th edition of the acknowledged international benchmark event for the furnishing and design sectors. A showcase that has always mixed business with culture, shaping the history of design and furnishing yesterday, today and tomorrow. At Salone del Mobile you’ll find brands like KOKET, that returns to Milan this April with a showcase of new vintage vibe pieces and a femme fatale from the romantic upholstered bed collection, along with a few KOKET icons for a desirable collection of designs from eras past.
The brand’s Founder and Creative Director, Janet Morais, draws inspiration from various vintage and cultural designs. With her daring design aesthetic, eye for the opulent and natural trend instinct, she transposes select design elements from the past into cutting-edge, contemporary luxury.
KOKET just unveiled new additions to the ladies of the upholstery collection, showing off a stunning blend of Art Deco designs and present day luxe. Along with the new designs, the brand revealed a collection of romantic, fully upholstered beds modelled after sofa designs from the Guilty Pleasures collection.
Let’s start with Audrey Chair, you’ll be aching to embark on a KOKET holiday with her. This sassy upholstered chair is given a touch of her “devil-may-care” attitude by being accompanied with a petite foot rest, when feeling coolly nonchalant. Her retro, skinny-jean legs and trendy upholstery fabric add a charming je ne sais quoi.
The next new tempting upholstery piece in the brand’s collection is the eye-catching black and gold Bolvardi Bench. A modernized butterfly stool, her soft curves are just as entrancing as her finishes. The timeless combination of polished brass accents and luscious black velvet upholstery make for a seductive and empowering statement piece.
The provocatively vintage Tamara Nightstand drips with enough Art Deco decadence to transport you back to the glamour of the Roaring Twenties. Her frame’s strong geometric lines are coupled with luxurious and alluring antique mirror panels and a single drawer.
Janet Morais and the KOKET design team were inspired by some of our favorite upholstered beauties, blending the designs to capture their erotic essence while fitting them for your boudoir. The result? A luxurious realm of plush velvets and fabrics morphed with cutting edge designs and fine craftsmanship, producing the ultimate bed collection that will have you dying for some pillow talk.
The upholstered femme fatale on display in Hall 6 – Stand D32A will be the curvy Kelly Bed. The lux and bodacious Kelly bed is just as crazy sexy cool as her sister sofa counterpart. Her fluid curves are harmoniously matched by sumptuous pleated waves of supple, creamy velvet upholstery fabric.
The experienced stars of the brand’s collection will make an appearance at the show as well. With a design that is both bold and daring, the Chandra Chairis a KOKET show stealer and constant favorite. The modern edge in this chair exudes the feeling of vintage glam, while polished brass bands delicately bind the chair highlighting the sculpted fluidity of the tight back satin upholstery.
The geometric Gem Table Lamp is a structural tribute to a diamond’s devastating power of enticement, representing the journey of the gem’s rough beginnings to the exquisite end. Its strong aged brass base frames the colorful gem in chaotic harmony, like a natural love affair.
