Who could ever think of a beautiful place like this? Located in Highland, Illinois “The Ben Rose House” was designed by James Speyer and David Haid in 1953. An open plan living, mirrored home surrounded by nature landscapes. It’s almost impossible to believe this movie home was put on the market for $2.3 million but remained unsold for 2 years. It’s since been undergoing renovations and should be available again soon.

Home Alone (1990)

Let’s start by saying the only thing that isn’t funny in this movie is the great architecture and design of McCallister‘s home. First of all, it’s absolutely massive hosting the numerous family members, secondly its easily transformed into an assortment of booby traps. This beautiful movie home is located in Winnetka, Illinois and sold for $1.58m in 2012.

Sadly much of the home decor has changed (the festive red has been replaced by white), but we’d still move there in a heartbeat, especially with a classic chandelier falling from the ceiling like that.
