This month, the city of Melbourne in Australia will host one of the most important design and decor events in Oceania: the Australian International Furniture Fair. This event will occur at the same time as other major Melbourne event: the Decor + Design! Both of these events will be held between the 12th and the 14th of July!

The Australian International Furniture is Australia’s largest trade-only furniture event and will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Every year it unveils the latest in furniture designs for commercial, residential and retail industry.

In 2017, this event attracted over 11,500 visitors and 330+ exhibitors! It’s expected that this International Fair will surpass those numbers this year! One of its main highlights is the VIVID Design Awards, Australia’s longest-running design competition and a highlight of AIFF & Decor + Design.

This awards promote and help celebrate the promising work of emerging Australian designers that showcase their furniture and lighting designs and concepts at this fair.

Other highlights of the event include: 1) the International Seminar Series, which delivered an outstanding line up of International and domestic design thought leaders; 2) the AIFF Loves Homemade, a dedicated area to foster and grow Australian furniture, cabinet and joinery designers and makers; and the Design Laneway & Wall Street, a showcasing of independent studios designing lighting, homewares, furnishings, textiles and surface art.
