To make the most of the existing space of a minimalist apartment in Moscow, Studio Bazi designed a furniture system that contains sleeping quarters and disguised storage spaces. The mission for this minimalist apartment was not only to create a comfortable open space plan with enough storage space and access to natural light, but also improve the level of privacy in the sleeping areas. In order to achieve this, Alireza Nemati‘s Wooden Sleep Box is located in a raised corner  of the apartment and separated from the kitchen and living area.

Although it may not look like it, this Wooden Sleep Box provides a clear view of the whole flat, which makes it a pretty cozy place to be.  This creative furniture system incorporates a dresser,  a drawer,  a wardrobe and sliding shelves for large appliances bellow the stairs at its entrance.

To enable even a higher level of privacy, a curtain separates the sleeping unit, kitchen and living zone from entrance. This Sleeping Box is covered with stained pine panels, as wood enables warmth to the interior and visually defines different areas. The living and dining room are quite flexible, since it can be easily transformed into a comfortable space for 10 guests, if you just move the sofa and extend the dining table.

This 35-square-meter flat was designed for Studio Bazi‘s founder Alireza Nemati himself and his beloved wife. The kitchen was dressed up with handmade Iranian Tiles to emphasize the Iranian Origin of the family’s heritage and the furniture was mainly purchased at IKEA. A true dream come true for minimalist design lovers.
