We recommend you start packing because Copenhagen, “a capital city pulsating with creativity” has just opened his doors and every design aficionado is answering his call! 3 Days of Design 2019 has just started and hundreds of designers, buyers, industry professionals or simply people interested in design are mingling right now in the capital of Denmark. Like every year since 2012 creativity in all its forms has been the foundation of the design event and the city has wanted, from the beginning of the fair, to establish a unique identity through the help of established and world-renowned artists, capable of expressing all the artistic potential the city can offer.
This 2019 edition the award-winning Spanish artist and designer Jaime Hayon, who is “blurring the lines between art, decoration, and design”, has created a graphic homage to 3 Days of Design 2019, capable of stating the issues that Copenhagen really takes to its heart. “Whether it’s art, music or another form of expression, each moment is like a gift. The same is true with design. While functional design makes everyday life easier, beautiful design makes your heart beat faster”. Aren’t you curious to discover the main activities of 3 DAYS OF DESIGN 2019? Let’s begin!

Adorno’s exhibition tries to return to the core of Danish design, trying to find new trends and ways – with the help of fresh Danish creators – that will give shape to the country’s design future. The new generation (Lea Nordstrøm, Josephine Rán Andredottir, Emilie Bobek , Stine Mikkelsen , Ragnhild Hjalmarsdóttir Højgaard , Kristine Mandsberg) is the first step to start a reinterpretation of traditional crafting methods, working between the edges of design, art, and crafts. NOVI (THE NEW) VIXX (6 WOMEN) has been curated by Pil Bredahl.
LIFELIKE DESIGN (May 24)
Three MANIFESTA design talks, organized by the Danish Arts Foundation and the Design Museum Denmark, take all the common name Lifelike Design in this panel discussions in which Danish and international design thinkers had been invited to participate. Designer and strategic adviser of the Danish Design Council, and project leader at the biolab Algae Platform, Johanna Weggelaar will start an interesting conversation on creating lifelike solutions to real life problems and they will try to answer to the question “What comes after human design?”.
