Web Summit Lisbon [01-04 November]
They’re a company from Dublin, Ireland, that holds events across the world: Web Summit in Lisbon, Web Summit Rio in Rio de Janeiro, Collision in Toronto, and RISE in Hong Kong. At a time of great uncertainty for many industries and, indeed, the world itself, they gather the founders and CEOs of technology companies, fast-growing startups, policymakers, and heads of state to ask a simple question: Where to next?
More than 2,000 startups will be exhibiting at this year’s Web Summit in Lisbon. Web Summit brings together leading speakers, tech’s biggest companies, and top media outlets. In therms of design, Web Summit will receive: Anuj Srivastava (Co-founder and CEO of Livspace), a home interior and renovation company head-quartered in Singapore. Brian Collins, a designer, creative director, and educator. He is the founder of COLLINS a brand and experience design firm based in San Francisco and New York. Lionel Ohayon, the founder and CEO of ICRAVE, an innovation and design studio in New York City that reimagines built and digital environments for award-winning hospitality, airport, healthcare and workplace projects across the globe.
Artissima [04-06 November]
Artissima is Italy’s most important contemporary art fair. Since its establishment in 1994, it has combined the presence of an international market with a focus on experimentation and research.
Galleries from around the world participate every year. In addition to the fair (Main Section, Monologue/Dialogue, New Entries, Art Spaces & Editions), Artissima is also composed of three curated sections, headed by a board of international curators and museum directors, devoted to emerging artists (Present Future), to the rediscovery of the great pioneers of contemporary art (Back to the Future) and to the drawing (Disegni). From this year, the three curated sections will once again be hosted in the fair pavilion with monographic booths, and on a dedicated digital platform with an indepth presentation.
The fair is curated by Artissima Srl, a company connected with the Fondazione Torino Musei.
EquipHotel [06-10 November]
EquipHotel is the leading international exhibition for professionals in the hotel and restaurant sector. Salon Art + Design NY [10-14 November]
Salon Art + Design, produced by Sanford L. Smith + Associates, returns to the Park Avenue Armory in New York City November 10-14, 2022. Salon presents the world’s best design – vintage, modern and contemporary – enhanced by blue-chip 20th century art, and features leading art and design galleries from all over the world, spotlighting the trends of collectible design.
The Salon’s inclusivity and willingness to consider both fine and decorative art in the context of contemporary life is predicated on the belief that today, more than ever, designers and collectors create environments rather than collect objects. Design Manchester UK – Barcelona [10-23 November]
A fashion creation marathon for students from Spain and the UK November 10–12, 2022 at Disseny Hub, Barcelona. This year’s Sustainable Challenge invites 30 fashion students from Spain and the UK to design on the theme of “Body Diversity”, supported by industry experts and mentors – including Marina Vergés (FREE FORM STYLE) and Zoë Hitchen (BBC).
