WHAT YOU CAN’T MISS
A GAZE AT WOMEN ARTISTS IN FRANCE
Organized by AWARE: Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions, this thematic exhibition will feature 25 projects of female artists to put emphasis to the discrimination embedded in the art world: from the under-appreciation given to woman artists in museum exhibitions to the underestimation of their works on the art market. The event’s purpose is to limit the gender gap with the male counterparts and to display appreciation for female arts and increase their presence.
The AWARE association – through a digital archive containing biographies, articles, and thesis – aims to not let the entire generation of female artists fall into oblivion because of gender bias: that’s the purpose of AWARE work as curator of these exhibitions and its division into four sections (abstraction, the feminist avant-garde, image, and theatricality).
SOUTHERN STARS: AN EXPLORATION OF LATIN AMERICAN ART
More than twenty European, Asian and Latin American galleries will give their contribution to organize an exhibition of 60 Argentinean, Brazilian, Chilean, Colombian, Cuban, Mexican, Peruvian and Venezuelan artists. The purpose of the exhibition – curated by independent curator Valentina Locatelli – is to display Latin American works concerning various aspects, from cultural issues to question of religion and sex to post-colonial societies.
