Balenciaga worked with emerging artist, architect, and designer Harry Nuriev to create a sofa made entirely from the brand’s discarded clothing. Inspired by the recliner concept, the sofa is filled with unsellable garments, upholstered in them, and wrapped in re-used vinyl. This piece serves as the opportunity to raise awareness amongst the subject of sustainability.

New York designer Harry Allen presents Portrait VesselEach sculpture is made from a 3-D scan of a person’s face and neck and is then printed in custom ceramic, 9-carat gold, or platinum. This is the designer’s perspective on both classical busts and present-day selfies.

Raleigh Gardens from the Raleigh Hotel was designed by architect Peter Marino and landscape architect Raymond Jungles. It shares an Art Deco concept, showcasing more than 40 surreal sculptures by Claude Lalanne and François-Xavier Lalanne, the late French artist couple simply known to the art world as Les Lalanne.

Nata Janberidze and Keti Toloraia of Rooms will be presenting at Design Miami for the first time with an exhibition inspired by their childhood. Based on the public benches they remember, they created two benches: One of wood where they will invite visitors to carve into and another of stone covered in graffiti by Georgian artist Max Machaidze. Make sure you don’t miss these iconic installations at Design Miami 2019!
