Design Week Mexico

Since 2009, Design Week Mexico has been an organization that promotes and contributes to the local design scene. Through its program, it has been able to gather a creative community with Mexico’s main figures in culture, education, commerce, and institutions. In 2018 Mexico City was World Design Capital under the premise of socially responsible design. This event is going to be held between 3rd October to 27th October. This year, Cuba and Yucatan will be the guest country and state. Under the slogan Design in patrimonial contexts. Nowadays, Design Week Mexico is the most important platform for promotion and encouragement of design in the country. Since 2009 it supports design with values that nourish our country’s social, economic and cultural life, as well as promoting an improvement in our communities’ life quality.

More than fifteen simultaneous activities will be held including exhibitions, public space interventions, conferences, conversations, documentary screenings, academic activities, pavilions and routes around design and architecture.

During the 2019 program, more than 15 simultaneous activities will be held including exhibitions, public space interventions, conferences, conversations, documentary screenings, academic activities, pavilions and routes around design and architecture. As it’s been done for longer than a decade, the events will be held in different public, private, cultural and educational spaces in Mexico City, keeping its official headquarters, Espacio CDMX Arquitectura y Diseño, as a core. This space, which has been renewed by the organization, is becoming an important meeting point for architects, designers, students, specialists and a general audience with an interest in these topics.
