WHEN & WHERE
Interior Lifestyle Tokyo 2019 will be held from 17 – 19 July at Tokyo Big Sight (West halls 1,2,3,4 and Atrium) in Tokyo. The chosen theme is “International trade fair which proposes lifestyle concepts in interior design markets starting in Tokyo and expanding into markets all around the world”. 800 exhibitors already registered to welcome visitors with new trends and inspirations for the next autumn/winter season. The 29th edition will retain the same variegated aspects of the other years: from interior pieces to food, jewelry, and garments, it opens to the possibility of entering the Japanese market.
Every zone displays a particular theme in such a way that every product’s features will be highlighted in the best way; Home, Accent, Everyday are best suited for stylish products, while Foodist shows a vast category of designed-packed food; instead, Global, Japan, and Nordic Lifestyle will divide the categories based on the origins. Movements, Talents, and Next are the fair zones designated for the latest trends and emerging designers.
WHAT YOU CAN’T MISS
THE CORNER SHOP: HOW TO MAKE A MARKET
Situated at the Atrium, The Corner Shop will realize a real street market, creating the perfect inspiring setting for vendors and buyers to conduct business together. The corner has been directed by Mr. Yu Yamada, whose reputation and buyer method has been acknowledged since 2007. Also, a special pop-up store, led by Mr. Yamada, will represent a guide and an example of his method to the buyers.
The Interior Lifestyle Tokyo will try to keep up with the latest trends, especially with ethical consumption and all the ethical products related to energy saving, recycling, sustainability, and traditional crafts. MADE51 and RATTA RATTARR are some of the ethical brands invited this year: the first one has been a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees projects – born in 2016 – to provide refugees with business opportunities; the second one – elected as the Japanese Social Design Project of the ELLE DECO International Design Awards (EDIDA) – sees the collaboration with people with disabilities and their creative contribution to the brand.
Traditional Japanese craftsmanship plays a central role here, since its presentation at the Frankfurt fair, showing all its potential with the high-quality design and promoting the related skill-set internationally.
Seminars and presentations by the best professionals and industry experts will be held during the design events.
AMBIENTE TRENDS 2019
Ms. Annetta Palmisano, along with her firm partners Mr. Cem Bora and Ms. Claudia Herke from the design studio Stilbuero bora.herke.palmisano, will discuss new tendencies and analyze international trends.
INTERIOR LIFESTYLE AWARDS
