This July, the next design event in our schedule will let you taste the Asiatic culture and, especially, design and its thriving market. The intense season is slowing down but we are not ready (yet!) to go think about summer when there are some more crucial events that require our presence: one of them is Interior Lifestyle Tokyo 2019 – Co-creating Future With Design, a wonderful opportunity to get to know and finally enter the Asiatic market. This event, the first of a double-date that will be repeated on November with IFFT – Interior Lifestyle Living, displays all the possibilities that the tradeshow offers in numbers: the 2018 edition was a complete success, with 615 Japanese exhibitors and 195 coming from all over the world and 25,456 visitors from 42 countries and regions, the design event is the perfect showcase of every designer’s dreams. Interior Lifestyle Tokyo 2019 Event Guide

Interior Lifestyle Tokyo 2019 will be held from 17 – 19 July at Tokyo Big Sight (West halls 1,2,3,4 and Atrium) in Tokyo. The chosen theme is “International trade fair which proposes lifestyle concepts in interior design markets starting in Tokyo and expanding into markets all around the world”. 800 exhibitors already registered to welcome visitors with new trends and inspirations for the next autumn/winter season. The 29th edition will retain the same variegated aspects of the other years: from interior pieces to food, jewelry, and garments, it opens to the possibility of entering the Japanese market.

Every zone displays a particular theme in such a way that every product’s features will be highlighted in the best way; Home, Accent, Everyday are best suited for stylish products, while Foodist shows a vast category of designed-packed food; instead, Global, Japan, and Nordic Lifestyle will divide the categories based on the origins. Movements, Talents, and Next are the fair zones designated for the latest trends and emerging designers.

THE CORNER SHOP: HOW TO MAKE A MARKET

Interior Lifestyle Tokyo 2019 Event Guide

Situated at the Atrium, The Corner Shop will realize a real street market, creating the perfect inspiring setting for vendors and buyers to conduct business together. The corner has been directed by Mr. Yu Yamada, whose reputation and buyer method has been acknowledged since 2007. Also, a special pop-up store, led by Mr. Yamada, will represent a guide and an example of his method to the buyers.

The Interior Lifestyle Tokyo will try to keep up with the latest trends, especially with ethical consumption and all the ethical products related to energy saving, recycling, sustainability, and traditional crafts. MADE51 and RATTA RATTARR are some of the ethical brands invited this year: the first one has been a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees projects – born in 2016 – to provide refugees with business opportunities; the second one – elected as the Japanese Social Design Project of the ELLE DECO International Design Awards (EDIDA) – sees the collaboration with people with disabilities and their creative contribution to the brand.
