WANTEDDESIGN BROOKLYN 2019 EVENT GUIDE

[wp_ad_camp_2]

It’s spring, it’s May, and you know what that means, don’t you? A lot of design events are starting all around the world and especially in New York. Today, we want to talk about an event that will take place in Brooklyn: this event – born in 2015 – is only the last one of a series of design events centering New York City. The two marquees events, Brooklyn and its twin brother in Manhattan, are a part of a bigger platform – NYCxDESIGN – centering on celebrating design in all its shapes. Since the beginning in 2010 the aim has been to provide a communal space where the international communities of professionals, designers, manufacturers, students, and artisans can converge to discuss together in the most innovative and dynamic setting you could find: New York. Do you want to know more about WANTEDDESIGN BROOKLYN EVENT GUIDE? Let’s begin!

WHERE & WHEN

WantedDesign Brooklyn Event Guide

The WantedDesign Brooklyn Event will begin on May 16th to 20th at Industry City in Sunset Park. For some years now, this setting has become a vibrant center where more than 100 designers, brands, and makers can inspire and be inspired by Brooklyn’s multidisciplinary predisposition; this characteristic has made the place a design haven where interactive exhibitions, showcases – starting simultaneously all over the city – seminars, design workshops, and fairs are the main activities.

An exhibition of over 200 works by visionary Dutch artist M.C. Escher will be open during all the event, providing to everyone the possibility to admire the genius of the iconic graphic artist. Starting from the earlier period – the 20s and 30s when he mostly draws nature and landscapes – to the figurative and abstract art of the later years. The Experience part of the exhibition will allow visitors to take part in scientific experiments and obtain educational input to better experience the event. You will find immersive photo booths capable of emulating Escher’s hypnotic environments, such as the Relativity Room and Infinity Room.
