Interview with Brabbu Design Forces – A Must at Maison Objet 2016
My Design Agenda met Brabbu for a few questions on their methodology and way of looking forward. Here it goes:
As an international furniture brand, how do you find the ways to anticipate contemporary lifestyle trends?
It is very important to be able to foresee the next lifestyle trends since that will put us in a position to make better decisions when it comes to the release of new design pieces. And lifestyle is about how we choose to live our lives, how we decorate our homes, how we travel and how we dress. To be able to understand that, our team invests a lot of time trying to understand and communicate with our audience. However, trends are not our main focus. Our mission is to create design pieces that are a gift for the senses; pieces that bring the comfort and function that every space longs for.
Design is a way of life. It is about making ideas real and to make a difference. Let me share a curiosity with you. At BRABBU, no single designer is mentioned in a particular piece of design. We always refer to “BRABBU Design Studio” instead. That is because design is the result of a process that involves a lot of people, from the designers to the craftsmen, with the intention of creating something that will make a difference in someone’s home.
Is there any special methodology or research process when you start a new project?
We like to see BRABBU as a storyteller of the world. Every single piece of our collection has a unique story behind it inspired by some of the most interesting cultures and places around the world.
What can we expect from Brabbu in the next months?
Apart from constantly trying to spruce up our collection with new design pieces and being present in some of the most important trade shows around the world – like Maison et Objet Paris this September – BRABBU’s team is working on very exciting projects to be released until the end of 2016. Our most treasured one is BRABBU Contract with integrated solutions for upscale hospitality contract projects that value quality and contemporary elegance blended with fierceness design.
