For that reason, the capital of fashion and culture, will not disappoint anyone that loves traveling and design. In today’s City Guide we share with you the must-go places to visit while you are in New York.
New York, aka Big Apple is an international center for design. World-famous architects and designers have lived there and learned there. Known as the city of talents, weather in terms of music, cinema and art, the city supports its people with some of the best design museums in the world.
Museum of Arts and Design
The mission is to collect, display, and interpret objects that document contemporary and historic innovation in craft, art and design. Originally founded as the Museum of Contemporary Crafts, the space focuses on handmade objects, especially items that stretch the imagination with their inventive materials.

Cooper- Hewitt National Design Museum
Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum is devoted exclusively to historic and contemporary design. Cooper Hewitt educates, inspires and empowers people through stunning exhibitions and educational programs. Housed in the former home of steel, the design museum’s building is a landmark on its own. The museum also encompasses the National Design library, a tremendous historical resource for design.
AIGA National Design Center Gallery
The gallery at the American Institute of Graphic Arts prides itself in presenting exhibitions on contemporary design which are, themselves, design pieces. The content of each exhibition is presented in a narrative format which both looks beautiful and explains the relevance of the work on display.
