In October of every year, the Dutch Design Week takes place in Eindhoven. One of the best design events worldwide and the biggest in Nothern Europe, Dutch Design Week or DDW present works and ideas of more than 2500 designers to more than 295.000 visitors from all over the world. My Design Agenda will now tell you more about this Design Event!
It takes place in various locations across the city, and presents work and ideas of more than 2600 designers to more than 335,000 visitors from home and abroad!
This marvelous event organizes and facilitates exhibitions, lectures, prize ceremonies, networking events and festivities. So, what is one of the best design events of 2018 have in stored for us?
It’s still early to know, but for the 2018 edition, the trend themes will be explored across new and various locations, as well as returning programs, like the Design Academy Eindhoven Graduation Show and the Secite-C area. The new locations include Core Studio (Q-Park Emmasingel), Contemplation Spaces | Room 2402 (Student Hotel), Hubot van Next Nature Network (Mediamarkt), VPRO Medialab (Design Perron), Modebelofte, Embassy of Robot Love and Embassy of Data, Embassy of Health (Innovation Powerhouse on Strijp T), Plan B, Crédit Fontýs in Wall Street and the exhibition Young Collectors.
We’ll return to this event later in the year to tell you all the recent news about it. The only thing we wanted to highlight is that this Dutch Design Week is different from other design events, because it concentrates on the designs of the future.
Although during the event every imaginable discipline and aspect of design is on offer, the emphasis is on experiment, innovation and cross-overs. Exceptional attention each year goes to work and development of young talent. That’s why you must visit the Netherlands in October and be apart of this event!
