During the London Design Festival, Lasvit’s Monster Collection will be on display at the flagship store of the acclaimed British designer Sir Paul Smith! This is a special exhibition by the Czech creative giants of glassmaking and design talents for this major event, but this luxury brand will also be presenting a levitating lighting presentation at the Decorex Design Fair!

In Paul Smith store will be thirteen Monsters from well-renowned designers including Dutch talent Maarten Baas, Czech design legend René Roubíček, Brazilian creative duo Campana Brothers, Italian artist Alessandro Mendini and others. This is the first time the Monsters will appear after their introduction at this year’s Milan Design Week, where they reaped great success and contributed to LASVIT receiving the main design award, which was awarded to the company for their Monster Cabaret show in Teatro Gerolamo. In Paul Smith’s shop in London, the monsters will be accompanied by a set of glassware. Visitors will have the chance to see, among other pieces, the Champagne Cooler designed by an architectural superstar, the late Jan Kaplický. LASVIT has recently made these coolers specially customized for the All England Club. Kaplický is world-renowned for his work in the innovative Future Systems architectonic studio whose portfolio contains such iconic projects as the New Media Centre at Lord’s Cricket Ground or the Selfridges Building in Birmingham.

As a part of the London Design Festival, which will run from September 16th to 19th, LASVIT prepared their Decorex exhibition. The Czech company is back at the scene of the crime – in 2017 they walked away with the Best International Exhibitor award. For forty years, renowned interior designers, artists and creative minds have gathered in Syon Park to curate their exquisite and imaginative designs, and this year will not be an exception. The lighting will not be the only thing flying above the ground. The glassware and even furniture will be levitating in the air at the site H33 in Syon Park. The design of the site corresponds with the vision of company’s lighting catalogue, which plays with seemingly incompatible perspectives and mindsets. The catalogue was recently awarded as 3rd best product catalogue on ED Awards.

In the center of the site will be a big bang of Cipher chandeliers designed by creative duo Yabu Pushelberg. The collection combining traditional glassmaking techniques with cutting-edge ideas and inspirations was introduced at the Euroluce in Milan last year and soon became one of the most admired LASVIT collections. Cipher´s delicate hand-blown crystal cylindrical pieces are cut with clean, clear lines. “The surface decoration was influenced by our fascination and exploration of the way in which etched patterning catches the light,” the designers explained.

Apart from Cipher, LASVIT will also feature its signature collection Neverending Glory, designed by Czech duo Jan Plecháč and Henry Wielgus. In the shape of their chandeliers, it is possible to recognize iconic chandeliers from five of the world’s most eminent concert halls and theatres; La Scala in Milan, Palais Garnier in Paris, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, as well as the Czech Republic’s Estates Theatre in Prague.

While the chandeliers will be hanging from the ceiling, the glassware will be flying through the air. Visitors will have the chance to check out the Otto glassware collection – LASVIT’s most extensive tableware collection made of glass and designed by the same creative duo as Cipher, bearing their similarly linear, signature style. The exhibition will also feature, among others, pieces from Japanese architect Kengo Kuma or the young Czech designer Cyril Dunděra. The last LASVIT autumn “hotspot” will be in the Mint Shop gallery. LASVIT is in long-standing cooperation with this design store which offers outstanding works from internationally recognized designers. The interior design store was established 20 years ago and is renowned for its contemporary collections and creative merchandising.
