Miami Experience at Maison Objet Americas – Combining the energetic backdrop of Miami Beach with the design network of MAISON&OBJET, the Americas show brings together events to transform the city into a veritable revelry of design. Several neighborhoods have emerged as the leaders in the arts, architecture and design.
Design District
Dedicated to innovative fashion, design, architecture and dining, the once called Buena Vista neighborhood is the effervescent destination for the best in shopping, cultural and culinary experiences.
Originally the area was made up of low-rise warehouses that were converted into commercial spaces and art galleries. In 2009 the first luxury shop opened, Christian Louboutin, marking an important transition for the district.
Wynwood
In 2009 the Wynwood Arts District Association was created, and is now one of the largest creative communities in the Unites States. Home to over 70 art galleries, retail stores, antique shops, bars, eateris and the biggest open air street art installations in the world, the former manufacturing district has been rehabilitated into different spaces dedicated to the creative industries.
Ironside
A vibrant urban center situated near the iron railroad with a stretch of renovated industrial warehouses next to the train tracks is an interconnected mixture of residential, commercial and artistic endeavors. The design resembles a village with pathways connecting buildings within an eco-minded urban landscape, and showcasing a like-minded group of ‘eco-preneurs’ in a shared space of imaginative freedom.
