The famous Art Basel/Miami Beach 2017 is coming to Miami in December. Are you ready for this illustrious event? We’ll tell you what to expect.
This will be 16th edition of Art Basel/Miami Beach, an art event with strong ramifications to other cultural areas, like film, interior design and architecture. This is a great event for culture lovers of all types, namely interior design lovers, because who knows if you’ll find that amazing sculpture for your hall entrance or an excellent painting from a promising artist.
This year, several leading galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa will show significant work from the masters of Modern and Contemporary art, as well the new generation of emerging stars. Expect to find a whole bunch of paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, films and editioned works of the highest quality on display in the main exhibition hall. Several ambitious large‐scale artworks, films and performances will become part of the city’s outdoor landscape at nearby Collins Park and SoundScape Park, all in the Miami area.
This year, over 70,000 visitors are expected to attend this prestigious art event that, according to the organization, will feature just about 268 galleries from 32 countries. This number it’s slightly higher if you include all the free complementary events that will be organized in Miami during the duration of the event. The whole city will join this art celebration that will be hosted in Miami Beach, at least, until 2023.
The event will also take place in the Bass Museum, the Institute of Contemporary Art and the Miami Design District. These three illustrious places will feature a display of art, but also several parties that include performances from Bjork, Wu-Tang Clan and Cut Copy.
